GOLDIN INSTITUTE COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY
The Goldin Institute had no strategy for its communications efforts and had a need to build its audience to support a new software platform and curriculum launched in the summer of 2018. Communications efforts were limited in their reach and lacked coordination.
PARTNERS: Goldin Institute
The development of a comprehensive Communications Strategy for use by the Foundation staff to align communications efforts and strategically use communications tools to help build its audience.
The Goldin Institute is a family foundation based in Chicago that works to support grassroots leadership and solutions to global problems. After many years in operation, without a need to raise money or build an audience, the launch of a new software platform and curriculum, Gather, in the summer of 2018, and the addition of several new staff members, created a need to use communications tools more strategically and to build an audience to market to prospective fellows and to be able to support them in fundraising and sharing their work with donors and press in the U.S. This document served as a strategic plan for the Goldin Institute communications, including a plan for its newsletter, press, building strategic partnerships, events, social media, the website, and other means of communications to serve the Foundation’s mission.
For this project, Variant Strategies identified the need for a comprehensive communications strategy for the Goldin Institute to help achieve its goals after the launch of Gather. VS developed the strategy document in close collaboration with Goldin Institute staff.
